Thanks to the generous support of our lead funders, Easton’s schools will host a children’s-book creator who will offer eighteen inspiring presentations designed to promote the love of reading. The lively and entertaining writer is Emma Otheguy.

The schools to be visited are Cheston, Forks, March, Palmer, Paxinosa, Tracy, Shawnee, and the Arts Academy Charter School. Additional Emma Otheguy programs will serve several preschools, and students at Lafayette College.

Emma Otheguy’s books emphasize the deep connections between Latin America and the United States and aim to share these stories of bridges and convergences with kids. Dr. Otheguy holds a Ph.D. in History from New York University, where she focused on colonial Latin America and feld fellowships and grants from the Mellon Foundation and the American historical Association.

Every student will receive a free copy of one of Emma Otheguy’s books, to take home and keep. The featured books are Cousins in the Time of Magic, Adventure in the City of Stories, Martina Has Too Many Tias, Reina Ramos Works It Out, Reina Ramos Tour Guide, and Reina Ramos Meet a Big Puppy.
