Join us virtually for an open mic event where you can share your poetry and be part of the Easton Book Festival!

The Lehigh Valley Poetry Collective, established in 2015 with events in Easton, has been a loose group of regional poets who have organized and collaborated together on performance series and open mic events. During the pandemic, the open mic series went online with regular workshops, virtual open mic events, and community projects. Lehigh Valley Poetry's core organizers began to expand poetry programming as part of the annual Easton Book Festival and this partnership remains. Lehigh Valley Poetry's E. Lynn Alexander and Darrell Parry, both Easton poets, host events and have continued the Lehigh Valley Poetry Virtual Salon, an online open mic. Each year, a special virtual open mic event has been part of the festival to offer an alternative to in person events, to include and expand participation, and to reduce barriers for poets who want to be part of the festival and find that virtual options meet their needs. Hosted on zoom, the platform has some expanded accessibility options such as enabling captions. Please see the Facebook event page for access links and information.
